Genshin Impact's mysterious Shrine of Depths are ominous obelisks scattered around the world. Each one holds the simple reward of a Luxurious Chest filled to the brim with 1-4 star equipment, Adventure Rank XP, essential upgrade materials, and even 40 Primogems.

There’s a good chance you’ll accidentally stumble upon one of these early on your adventure, but you won’t be able to unlock its secrets for some time. Here’s where to find every Shrine of Depths and the keys needed to open them.

How to Open a Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact

As soon as you come across a Shrine of Depths, you’ll be prompted to use a key to unlock the barrier blocking the entrance. There are 10 shrines in each region, so if you want the associated achievements and expect to source 20 keys and hit all all the Shrine of Depths locations at some point or another.

Certain quests reward Shrine of Depths keys, but the easiest way to get your first few is to clear Domains like the Temple of the Lion and Temple of the Wolf as they unlock.

Mondstadt Shrine of Depths

How to Get Mondstadt Shrine of Depths Keys

Like the shrines themselves, Mondstadt Shrine of Depths keys are scattered around the region. You’re likely to get your first few by clearing one-time Domain runs like Temple of the Wolf as you level up your Adventure Rank, with others coming from quests and even the Adventurer Handbook. Take a look at the list below to find them all:

Domains

• Temple of the Falcon (Adventure Rank 12) = 1key
• Temple of the Wolf (Adventure Rank 15) = 1key
• Temple of the Lion (Adventure Rank 18) = 1 key
• Eagle’s Gate (Adventure Rank 21) = 1key

Quests

• New Horizons of Adventure (Archon Quest) = 1 key
• Adventure Rank Ascension 1 (Adventure Rank 25) = 3 keys

Miscellaneous

• Adventure Handbook Chapter 4 (Upgrade the Statues of the Seven in Mondstadt) = 1 key
• Adventure Handbook Chapter 5 (Open 100 chests) = 1 key

Mondstadt Shrine of Depths Locations

You'll naturally come across each Shrine as you adventure around Mondstadt, but unless you make an effort to mark them on your map, you’ll struggle to find each and every one when you have a key on hand to open them.

Conveniently, we have each and every Monsdtadt Shrine of Depths location marked as stars on the map above. Be sure to mark each one off on your own in-game map as you open them. Some are quite close together, after all.

Liyue Shrine of Depths

How to Get Liyue Shrine of Depths Keys

The methods to unlock the 10 Liyue shrines mirror those needed to open shrines found in Mondstadt. Ranging from first-time runs through Domains to quick little side-quests, you won't be able to unlock all of Liyue's secret treasure troves until you hit Adventure Rank 35, but you can find the first key as soon as you step foot in the region. Here’s where to find them all, and the Adventure Rank you'll need to reach to get them:

Domains

• Domain of Forsaken Ruins (Adventure Rank 24) = 1key
• Domain of the Wayward Path (Adventure Rank 27) = 1key
• Hidden Palace of Guizang Formula “Voyage to the Sanguine Sky” (Adventure Rank 30) = 1key
• Hidden Palace of Guizang Formula “Travels of the Moonlit Venturer” (Adventure Rank 35) = 1key

Quests

• The Chi of Guyun = 1 key
• The Tree who Stands Alone = 1 key
• Treasure Lost, Treasure Found = 1 key
• Adventure Rank Ascension 2 (Adventure Rank 35) = 3 keys

Liyue Shrine of Depths Locations

As a much bigger (and more puzzle-centric) map than Mondstadt, tracking down all of Liyue’s hidden Shrine of Depths can absolutely be a challenge.

Given how much more of a grind it is to get to the point where you can acquire every key, though, you shouldn’t worry too much if you come across one without a key on hand. It’s bound to happen. When you’re ready, though, visit the points on the map above to find each and every Liyue Shrine of Depths.

Inazuma Shrine of Depths

How to Get Inazuma Shrine of Depths Keys

Unlike with Mondstadt’s and Liyue’s Keys, you can only get Inazuma Shrine of Depths Keys by restoring the Sacred Sakura Tree and the Statue of the Seven, with one exception.

You’ll receive one Key for completing Chapter II: Act II - Stillness, The Sublimation Of Shadow.

You’ll get a Shrine Key at Statue of the Seven levels:

• 4
• 6
• 8
• 10

And a key at Sacred Sakura favor levels:

• 8
• 18
• 28
• 38

Inazuma Shrine of Depths Locations

The location of each shrine is quite far from each other as Inazuma is an island country. Here are their locations.

Narukami Island Shrine of Depths

The first Shrine on Narukami Island is near Ritou Island, but unless you feel like freezing the water to create a walkway, you’ll need to unlock a Waverider Waypoint before you can reach it. The second Shrine is on a small rocky rise east of the Chinju Forest teleport point.

Tatarasuna Shrine of Depths

Tatarasuna also has two Shrines. The easiest way to approach them is from the southern waypoint. Travel north to reach the first one – this saves you having to climb the steep cliffs if you approached from the north or west – and just drop off the cliff southwest of the teleport point to find the second one.

Yashiori Island Shrine of Depths

You’ll find two more Shrines on Yashiori Island, both near the Maguu Kenki battlegrounds. The first is on a ledge just above Maguu Kenki, near the teleport waypoint. The second is south of the Formation Estate Domain.

Watatsumi Island Shrine of Depths

There’s only one Shrine on Watatsumi Island, and there’s no nearby waypoint to start at. The star marker is a bit misleading, since the Shrine is actually at the water level, under a rocky overhang.

Seirai Island Shrine of Depths

Seirai Island also only has one Shrine, and it’s pretty easy to find. Head west from the Statue of the Seven, and you’ll run into it on the open plains.

Tsurumi Island Shrine of Depths

The final two Shrines are on Tsurumi Island, and you can access them even if you haven’t cleared the fog yet. One is northwest of the first waypoint, on a promontory near the southern edge of the small island housing Chirai Shrine. The second is to the west, on a small cliff northwest of Oina Beach.
